Occupational Therapist / Founder
Joy has been providing occupational therapy services to both children and adults in Yukon for 28 years in a wide variety of setting and has provided OT services in almost every community in the territory. Joy graduated from the University of Alberta with a B.A. Special in Psychology and then a Bachelor of Science with specialization in Occupational Therapy in 1990. Joy is a strong advocate for the importance of providing culturally safe care and is dedicated to the practice empowering communities and people in their health journeys. She seeks to ground herself in relationships with and in Indigenous communities and to minimize harm by learning and incorporating strategies to work against systemic racism in a meaningful way. With a pediatric population, Joy’s specialty lies in treating children holistically, with an emphasis on assisting children in self-regulation, executive function, sensory processing and motor skills in order to manage their daily occupational performance demands.

Occupational Therapist
Kayla is an occupational therapist currently working full-time for Occupational Therapy Consulting as primarily a pediatric occupational therapist. She is originally from Montreal, Quebec but has called Yukon home since 2021. She is fluent in both English and French. Kayla has worked as an occupational therapist since 2021 with experience in pediatrics, long-term care, mental health, rehabilitation, ergonomics, workplace injuries and return to work planning. She has a passion for improving the daily function of the children she sees using a family-centered approach to therapy through play. The therapy Kayla provides is inspired by a sensory integrative approach and is informed by trauma-informed therapy, the biomechanical approach and neurodevelopmental treatment. She believes that the key piece to working with children is building rapport with them! Kayla is also trained in building oral-motor skills and expanding the variety of foods and textures children eat, using the SOS Approach to Feeding.

Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapy Assistant
Caroline is originally from Quebec City, she is bilingual and a graduate of the University of Ottawa’s Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in 2007. In the last 15 years of her career, Caroline has worked in multiple settings and areas including in Ottawa/Gatineau region, Inuvik NWT x 4 years (Beaufort Delta region; providing communities services and travelling all over that region) and in the Yukon since 2014. During her career, she has gained experience in clinical skills settings, care coordination, and supervisory roles. Working across Northern Canadian Territories since 2010 has given Caroline the opportunity to gain knowledge on, and collaborate with different Indigenous & First Nation culture. She is currently working with and collaborating with a private occupational therapist in paediatrics therapeutic sensory integrative approach. Building trust, and team bonding have always been essential to Caroline's work. With Occupational Therapy Consulting, she works as both a physical therapist and an occupational therapy assistant

Occupational Therapy Assistant
Adrienne received a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (2004) from Dalhousie University after initially pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of New Brunswick. She began her Occupational Therapy career working in a variety of practice areas including Occupational Rehabilitation Programs, Continuing Care, In-patient Neuropsychology and Geriatric Psychology and then stepped away from her professional career to be a stay-at-home mom to her 4 children. Adrienne’s current role at OT North is as an Occupational Therapy Assistant as she actively furthers her skill set in paediatric OT through continuing education and obtaining specialized certifications.
Outside of work, Adrienne enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family and friends in the great outdoors participating in a variety of activities.
